At a Board Meeting in July 10, 2000 it was agreed that
Hazem Ghonima FCILT, would be appointed to the position of Chief Executive
Officer of the CILT in in North America effective July 17, 2000.
Mr.
Ghonima is a transportation professional with extensive experience in
freight transportation economics and forecast. For the past twelve years he has headed TAF Consultants, an Ottawa firm
specialized in Freight Traffic Analysis and Forecasting and the development
of innovative computerized transport-related information systems that are
used for strategic planning, and business development.
Mr. Ghonima
created the
Transportation Situation and Outlook Conference in 1997
to promote the uses of science and arts of forecasting as
vital tools for strategic planning, policy and business development
in the Transportation and Logistic industry.
Mr. Ghonima is well known to most
of CILT members and the transportation community. He was the Chairman of the
CILT Ottawa Chapter and served on CILT Regional and National Boards of
Directors. Hazem introduced the Transportation Situation and
Outlook at the CILT and organized and chaired several transport related
conferences. The latter have further
elevated the status of CILTNA among the transportation community.
As our CEO Hazem will oversee the
modernization of CILTNA administration infrastructure to cope with the
growing requirements, strengthen the regional and national activities of the
Institute and represent our interests at CILT international level.
